If you are in business you should be spending 80% of your time on sales and marketing activity. For a week that is exactly what we are going to do. No, it won't. Sales Warlord is not going to "bullshit" you - if you are anywhere near as scared as he was to get on the phone and call people when he started it is going to be a real stretch for you and there will be a lot of weak excuses to avoid doing what we agree you need to do. That is why Sales Warlord is going to get you to give permission to hold you accountable if you give him any of that crap.
"But in my industry it's different, customers won't appreciate me selling to them"
Sure, no one want's to be sold to, but everyone want's to buy the things they want and need. Selling is about showing someone what you have will benefit them and building enough trust for them to make a buying decision.
If you think about it, no matter who you are your industry is one where you either take a dollar for a product or a service or both. So if your industry is different you are saying sales does not work in your industry, and with an attitude like that it is impossible to be successful in business.
Every business is a sales and marketing business, people in business who can't see that are headed for disaster and cannot be helped, and should go back to a day job, because they will go broke.
